Nonbinding plain-language summary — the Terms and Privacy Notice control

Your work stays yours

As between you and HardwareHub, and subject to third-party rights and the underlying HardwareHub materials, you retain any ownership rights you have in the product concepts, files, designs, requirements, supplier information, project records, and user-created templates you put in Workbench. HardwareHub does not claim ownership of that content.

The license is limited to running Workbench

You allow HardwareHub and its providers to store, process, back up, secure, display, and transmit your content only as needed to provide the Service, support you, comply with law, or share content when you direct us to do so.

HardwareHub does not receive a right to sell your project content, make it public on its own, advertise against it, or use it to train or fine-tune an AI or automated model. The current Service does not send User Content to an AI or automated-model provider.

HardwareHub personnel do not inspect project content for ordinary administration, development, analytics, or convenience. Support starts with metadata and sanitized details. Human content access ordinarily requires your verified, explicit authorization for the exact case and scope; narrow security or legal emergencies may use logged, time-limited access and prompt notice unless law prohibits it.

Permission-controlled, not a substitute for an NDA

Access to projects and files is restricted through account and project permissions. If Workbench offers a sharing or download feature and you use it, the selected content becomes available to the recipient you choose. Review the scope before sharing.

The standard Terms provide access and confidentiality protections but are not a negotiated NDA. If a project needs contractual confidentiality, export-control handling, a customer-specific DPA, or other special restrictions, arrange that in writing before uploading it.

Workbench currently protects content with encrypted transport, provider-managed encryption at rest, private storage, authorization checks, and time-limited authorized downloads. It is not end-to-end encrypted, zero-knowledge, or protected by customer-managed keys. Do not use Workbench for a project that requires those controls unless HardwareHub separately agrees in writing after the necessary feature and security review.

HardwareHub owns the platform

HardwareHub owns the Workbench software, brand, documentation, and company-created templates. You may use them in Workbench for lawful project work and may continue to use, copy, download, and share completed project outputs you created with them. You may not resell or distribute blank HardwareHub templates or the platform itself. Your completed project records and user-created templates remain your content.

Templates do not create legal rights

NDA starter text, invention notes, filing links, and similar tools help organize information. They do not create an attorney-client relationship, preserve patent rights, file an application, guarantee confidentiality, or replace advice from qualified counsel.

Files, export, archive, and deletion differ

• Archive keeps a project restorable; it is not deletion.
• Individual project JSON export contains structured project records and file metadata, not file bytes.
• Download file bytes separately while access is available.
• Keep an independent copy of important project files; Workbench should not be your only backup.
• Canceling a plan does not delete content.
• Self-service hard deletion and universal workspace export are not currently available.

Content that does not belong in Workbench

Do not enter or upload passwords, credentials, private keys, other authentication secrets, full card data, financial-account credentials, government-issued identifiers, children's data, identifiable consumer health data (including when HIPAA does not apply), genetic or biometric identifiers, precise geolocation, protected-trait information, classified/CUI material, ITAR-controlled technical data, technology or software requiring special handling under the EAR, or other sensitive personal data requiring specific consent, assessment, or special handling under applicable law. Ordinary business contacts, company or supplier locations, product or medical-device designs and specifications, and deidentified technical or test data not reasonably linkable to a person are permitted. Confidential product ideas and trade secrets are permitted, but these standard terms are not a negotiated NDA. The file pipeline does not promise malware scanning.
